Hello! Welcome to my homepage. My name is Bill Reid. I am an amateur photographer and wallpaper artist, living in central Connecticut, U.S. I like to dabble in Digital SLR photography -especially HDR images. My favorite photos would include landscapes, street scenes and macro imaging. Since the early 90's I have been experimenting with many fractal graphic arts programs and enjoy creating edited images of colorful creations for desktop wallpapers, including renders, imaginary landscapes, space scenes and the like.
DHV is my home for sharing my creations and links to other art/photography websites that I regularly contribute to. If you click around, you will discover my rusty collection of old fractals and graphic edits. Newer work includes Vue, Terragen, Bryce, Poser, Blender and many others! My landscape render program of choice has to be Terragen 2. Fantastic program with endless possibilities.
For digital graphic editing my tool box includes: Photo shop, with many filters and actions. Photomatrix for HDR compositions. Richard Rosenman's DOF Pro (commercial depth of field filter for adding distance effects, and controlled blur). Neat Image is an awesome image post work tool, that reduces noise and grain in photographs and digital graphic images.
How did this obsession develop? I've always had a great respect for production value, and after learning to read music, playing several instruments, and playing in a band for many years, my awareness of music and art was set for life. Not playing music anymore, I found I was still yearning to create something: I needed to find a way to channel the inner artist, and that developed into graphic arts and photography. I used to search for desktop wallpaper, and that slowly morphed into creating my own.
Photography for me has been a life long passion.
Visit Planetside or Ashundar and there you can keep up with Terragen 2 updates, images, and info. Terragen 2 is challenging and still holds many mystery's. Thanks to all the people who share their Terragen knowledge and files in the Planetside forums. I have met some generous, awesome artists there, who are willing to share and mentor.
Thank you for letting me indulge myself. Bill Reid AKA m a t r i x 2 0 0 3
